An Aerobatic Flight for a Stag Party
An aerobatic flight can be part of a stag trip if each participant wants to fly and meets the requirements. Arrange the flight schedule before booking travel for the group.
The two conditions
No alcohol the night before. Alcohol lowers G tolerance and worsens motion sickness into the following day, and a hungover participant at +6G has a bad time and lands early. If the schedule cannot accommodate a dry night, book the flight for the first day of the trip rather than the last.
Nobody flies who does not want to. Pressuring a reluctant friend into an aerobatic aeroplane produces exactly the outcome you would expect. Spectators are free and the box is next to the airfield, so anybody sitting it out still sees everything.
How the day works for a group
One aeroplane, one pilot, roughly 45 minutes per person including briefing and turnaround. Four people fit into a comfortable half day, eight into a full day. The Friends & Family package covers four flying the full 20-minute Adrenaline sequence, with lunch, for 11,111 PLN.
The good part is not the flying, or not only. It is eight people on the grass watching the seventh person get out of the aeroplane, and the debrief conversations in between.
What to book
- Adrenaline, 3,111 PLN per person. Twenty minutes, full sequence, up to +6G. This is the one for a stag group.
- First Flight, 2,222 PLN. Ten minutes, up to +4G. For anybody unsure.
- 360° onboard video, 299 PLN. Order in advance. The recording must be arranged before the flight.
The limits, in advance
Age 13 and over, up to 110 kg, up to about 195 cm, no serious cardiovascular conditions, epilepsy or pregnancy. Circulate this with the invitation. Discovering on the day that the best man is over the weight limit is a worse conversation than any of the alternatives.
Logistics from Warsaw
Radom-Piastów (EPRP) is about 100 km from Warsaw, roughly 90 minutes by road, free parking. Most groups hire a minibus, which also solves the question of who is driving. Trains run to Radom Główny with a 15-minute taxi at the other end. Season runs April to October, and weekend slots in May, June and September go first, so three to four weeks of notice makes the difference between choosing a date and taking one.
Weather
If conditions do not allow a proper sequence the slot moves. For a stag weekend that is a real risk, since the group is only in the country for two days. Book the flight on the first available morning rather than the last afternoon, and treat the rest of the weekend as the buffer.
Frequently asked questions
Is an aerobatic flight a good stag party activity?
It works well for groups where people want to fly, and it is memorable in a way most stag activities are not. It requires a dry night beforehand and nobody should be pressured into flying.
How many people can fly in one stag group?
Four in a comfortable half day and eight in a full day, at roughly 45 minutes per person including briefing and turnaround.
Can we drink the night before?
No. Alcohol lowers G tolerance and worsens motion sickness into the next day. Schedule the flight for the first day of the trip if the evenings are spoken for.
What if somebody does not want to fly?
They watch. Spectators are free, and the aerobatic box sits next to the airfield so they see the entire sequence.
How far is the airfield from Warsaw?
About 100 km, roughly 90 minutes by road, with free parking. Most groups hire a minibus, which also settles the question of who drives.
